The two Posters viewed in preparation for this activity say a lot about the expectations for Americans in World War II particularly the women. The first poster “We Can Do It” was initially created for the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company but later on it became a symbol of women patriotism during the Second World War. Women were expected to join the jobs in the defense industries because women displayed their skills of being able to help the country in such a crisis. The second image “Are you a girl with star-spangled heart?” was also to encourage women to join WAC to help in the war effort.
